|Andrew Schmidt has been an avid fan of Techno, DJ & Dance music for 6 years. He originally became interested in Techno, DJ & Dance music when he needed an upbeat form of music to stay up late reading and writing through college. Eventually he began to prefer it when dancing and doing any other activities. He is now an avid listener and show-goer, who occasionally experiments with music development. His occupation is: Photographer.
Techno, DJ & Dance has become a very important part of my life and I hope to offer you some useful information that you can utilize when shopping for someone with similar interests.
It is important when shopping for someone interested in Techno, DJ & Dance to keep in mind:
1. Keyboards and looping machines play a big part in producing techno music. These are the bare essentials to getting someone started.
2. For people who are just avid listeners, lighting and effects kits always enhance the listening experience. Glow sticks make for a great gift. I have also seen shirts that light up like an old digital soundboard.
As a Techno, DJ & Dance enthusiast my preferences tend to focus on how I experience the music at home, when I throw events and while I’m at concerts.
1. I have the most experience in throwing events and have found that laser lights and fog machines really tend to make all the difference.
2. Good speakers are very important to the electronic listener too. Bass is a heavy component of the music and speakers with a good low range are always appreciated gifts.
While keeping in mind the recipient’s preferences when buying for the Techno, DJ & Dance category enthusiast, knowing whether they are a beginner, intermediate or expert is also important in making the right decision.
With a beginner you must keep in mind they have shown interest in the music and most likely attend shows and listen the music at home. Gifts that are good are those that enhance the show experience or the home listening experience. Glow sticks, black lights, laser lights and awesome clothes (the kind that light up or have neon colors).
With an intermediate you might keep in mind they are most likely dabbling in producing the actual music and would appreciate something like a Korg synthesizer or keyboard for starters. A looping board is also a very nice addition. The Korg synthesizer allows you to augment any sound that you produce yourself or sample from another source. A looping board allows you to save a predetermined number of sound bytes that can be brought up by using a physical button; very good for quick music production using a bunch of samples.
With an advanced Techno, DJ & Dance enthusiast you might keep in mind anything that has been previously mention and is not owned by this individual would make a stellar gift. Most likely they already own these items so nice carrying cases for their equipment and stage production items like lights and fog machines are great fallback items to enhancing their show presence. Nice cords and computers are also great items. A lot of high-tech production is done on fast computers.
On the topic of gifts, the most unusual item that I have ever received or purchased, given my passion for Techno, DJ & Dance has been a shirt that has lights that bounce up and down to the beat of the music like an old stereo units soundboard. I’ve seen all kinds of variations of this shirt and they are all extremely unique.
In conclusion, there are many factors in giving the right gift and avoiding embarrassment. These are only some suggestions and you must rely on your knowledge of the person more than anything. Good luck and happy gift hunting.
